Frequently Asked Questions
What ages and what areas of Austin do you serve?
For individual child therapy I serve children ages 3-14. For therapeutic mentoring/life coaching I serve children ages 5-12. I serve most of the Austin area. You can contact me to find out if you live within the service area of the program.
What is the process for starting services and what can I expect once services begin?
Simply contact me by phone or text at 512-785-3873 or email at blravenscraft@gmail.com and let me know what services you need for your child, and we can determine if I am a good fit to meet your and your child's needs. Next, we will schedule an initial session where I will come to your home to meet you and your child, develop a treatment plan and begin services.
What are my rights as a consumer?
* You can contact the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council at www.bhec.texas.gov on their Contact Us page for any questions or complaints related to services provided by a licensed provider.
* You can file a consumer complaint at the Office of the Attorney General's Consumer Protection website at www.texasattorneygeneral.gov
* You have the right to request your healthcare records.
*Under the " No Surprises Act" you have the right to clear, understandable upfront cost information for services.
What are the costs for services, and do you accept insurance?
The cost for individual in-home child therapy is $120 per session. The cost for therapeutic mentoring/life coaching is $40 an hour for the first hour and $20 for each additional consecutive hour. I am in network with Cigna, Aetna, United Healthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Oscar, and Oxford health insurance plans. If I am not in-network with your insurance, you may be able to get reimbursement for therapy services for out-of-network providers. You can contact your insurance for more information. You may also be able to utilize your HSA or FSA to pay for some of the costs of services.
How long does therapy usually last?
Typically, depending on the identified issue, to see significant progress on treatment goals, therapy takes approximately 8-10 weekly sessions. We can then schedule 3-4 follow-up appointments spread out over several months to make sure progress is maintained. Therapeutic mentoring/life coaching for your child is not considered treatment and is more open-ended as far as how long services are provided.
